Probably not interesting to those who never venture off pavement but Shimano seems to be developing a clutch rear derailleur for 2x road bikes.

I'm really interested in this for gravel.

Fast descents over rough surfaces can cause the derailleur to flap wildly. I've had the chain flail about to the point where it jumps off the front ring - pretty exciting when it happens on a -15% grade at speed. This should solve the problem.

It is also interesting that they released this in the Ultegra line and not Dura Ace. That's clearly where the bulk of their sales are.
