Remember, the Sun is much smaller than you see, at say sunset, what you are seeing is the corona which is the envelope of hot gasses that surround the sun. So magnification aids viewing the total eclipse, but heed all the warnings about protecting your eyes!

FYI...those heading to Brasstown... they are charging $75 a person that day and I believe are limiting the number of people to 250, I believe...I guess alternative is just find a spot somewhere top of hogpen...

They aren't smart enough to stop you from hiking up the top.
