We completed the clean-up today, clearing several down trees and shrubbery west of the Brushy Mtn tunnel.
Fletcher Tree Service had cleaned-up everything to the east side of the tunnel but was told that Polk County took care of everything west of the tunnel.

The trail looked good when we left, but heavy rains for Saturday and 20+ mph predicted wind gusts will likely topple a few more trees.

Thanks for all you do, Webgeek! Without you, the Silver Comet Trail and the ATL Cycling community would be nowhere near it is today!

Ray Fletcher told me that he was instructed by Paulding County to not clean west of the tunnel.

Evidently there is some political drama between Polk and Paulding over maintaining that little section of trail.

Thank you, guys!!!

I was out on the Cobb section today. It was clear with the exception of leaves, sticks, and a few limbs--normal "rain" debris.

I rode the trail today.

No debris for the gravel bike to run over. Mad

Rode today Florence to Coots and back. See why trail was closed past mile 26, lots and lots of trees cut up. Ran into debris and a few branches, but over all a good freezing cold ride!
