Apparently they are shipping the C40 wheels in Asia with 35mm rims instead of the 40mm rims advertised and promoted. They are also narrower than the original spec, supposed to be 24mm but are 20.8mm. Likewise the C60 were supposed to be 60mm but are really 50mm.
The Shimano announcement last July, press releases and all the reviews said they were to be 40mm x 24mm. Shimano has been systematically changing the specs on their websites to match what actually shipped.
