Thinking about riding the comet tomorrow. How's the condition of the trail after the heavy rains.

It was messy today. Lots of pine straw and had to go around standing water near the railroad bridge west of Hiram. Didn't stop people from riding tho.

Check this picture out. I saw it on facebook posted by Clint Fowler. In case you are not sure where this is, it is where the trail turns left riding by the creek coming into Rockmart

Most likely will be gone by tomorrow but there will be plenty of muck on the trail. You can miss it by going straight and turning right into Rockmart.

Not the trail but here is a picture taken by Ben Baldwin on the Rome ride today. This is on Haywood Valley at the church

The first 11-12 miles from Mavell Rd. to the Powder Springs Bridge are in pretty good condition. Except for a few puddles on a bridge, it was dry. Not too much debris or pine needles. I wonder if Cobb blew it off earlier in the week?

Yes, I passed someone running a blower in Cobb on the 29th.

I rode Floyd Rd to Rockmart on the 3rd, and while the trail wasn't pristine, there wasn't anything that seemed remarkably awful.
