CVCA's "Up the Creek Without a Pedal XXIII" will be on Saturday, May 11th.
Registration is now open on www.Active.com. Our web site does not have the new form yet, but hopefully this week!

Please note that the registration fee will only be $30, if you register by April 1st....and that is no April Fool's joke! That fee will include a Dri-balance T-shirt, light breakfast, and post-ride meal, plus all of the usual great SAG stops, support, showers, etc.

Ride fee goes up to $40 after April 1, so you have less time to get the reduced rate. I must say that out of 22 years we have only had rain for a small portion of a couple of the rides. I believe Active has a $7 insurance fee you can get, if you are afraid you might have to cancel for some reason. I would encourage you to register early and save some money.

I'll give more information later, but wanted to alert you to the reduced fee in advance. Spread the word!

Looking forward to a great day!

Chris Very Happy

AWESOME!

I have seen no news on Brasstown Bald Buster which is the only other cent (sometimes) on that weekend that can come close to comparing.

Chris, I look forward to this!!!

>> Brasstown Bald Buster

What happened to it? I really want to attempt it and it seems 2011 was the last year of that ride.

Ask Jim or Mitch. I think that they were busy last year and didn't do it, or so I was told, but I don't have a clue about it this year.

Up The Creek FTW!!!

Just found out that people have been unable to find this event listed on Active.com. Contacted Active and they said the "search engine" was taking longer than usual to add the event. Give it another day or two and it should be showing up. Sorry about that!

Brasstown won't be held this year as far as I know. Jim didn't put it on last year, and Mitch isn't involved with Surge Sports anymore.

Updates:

PowerBar has agreed to be a sponsor, so we will have gels & blasts to hand out to riders.

Unfortunately, we can't get the massage students or volunteers this year, but we will have massage therapists on site for a fee. Fee will be $20 for a 20 minute massage, cash only. If you think you might be interested in this service, they would like to know in advance so they can plan for the number of therapists needed. You can e-mail me: cycling50@aol.com.

Jandy's Frozen Yogurt mobile unit will also be on site in the afternoon, if you want to purchase a delicious treat after the ride.

Reminder: Fee goes up from $30 to $40 after April 1, so register early. Registration is available by downloading form on www.cvca.org or via www.active.com

Thanks,
Chris
