WG, Mt thanks for coming this afternoon. It was a good time up till it started raining. Sad

WG thanks again for helping get clean up.

I also enjoyed our ride, but after doing a century on Saturday I was ready to head for the barn this afternoon. Thanks for pulling us back. Very Happy

I figured you'd be tired. Steve & BigRing are a bad combination for cranking it up, not to mention knowing there was food on the table. They shed other Chris & Francois(sp?) too. But heah, what are friends for?

Actually, my post-work excursions from Florence to the tunnel and back (spin out, power back) are really helping my endurance for the long pulls. Which has always been what I like to do. Also thought the outbound spin session really helped me on the hills this morning with P2K, but he probably was going slow for the "old guy".

One of the sites was talking about this sixty year old guy dying in the Alps. I was thinking what's that old guy doing out there anyway... opps. So, as long as I don't feel near-sixty and ride with the kids guess I'll just enjoy watching the sun come up, ride my pace, count the blessings.

And tell ChrisMc thanks for feeding me, it was a fun day.

We were honored to have WG, MarkT and his wife and daughter join us today. I would have loved to ride, but had to tend to the fire. Almost burnt those hotdogs, so it's a good thing Brian H. was the real chef! I counted about 55 adults and 18 children. Why did I still have so much food left???? Enjoyed visiting with everyone.
The weather was really weird, going from sun to rain to hail!! Kids got all excited by the rain and hail and really loved playing in the water.
I appreciated all of the help everyone offered.
TomA stopped by early in the afternoon, but never came back to eat with us--darn! Maybe the next time.

WG, I wasn't going easy because you are out to pasture. I was going easy because it was a recovery day. My avg heart rate was below 120 so it definitely was easy. But I enjoyed the easy morning ride appreciating the country views and the conversation--it was very peaceful, just what I needed.

I always ride easier when I'm by myself. It was a good thing that we didn't have a group pushing us. I hadn't gotten enough sleep beforehand.

Sorry I couldn't make the picnic. I've got to free up more of my weekends.
