This years CVCA membership drive picnic will be held on Sunday June 4th at Seaborn Jones park in downtown Rockmart. Picnic will start at 2:00 P.M. and food will be served about 4:00 P.M.

This is a family event so wives and children are welcome.

WG and I are currently working on some possible ride options. More info on this will be forth coming.

We do ask that you RSVP (So we know how much food we need!) either Cycling50 at aol.com or PM me.

So if your interested in finding out more about us, come on out and have a good time.

Don't forget our picnic this Sunday.

If you and your family are interested in coming just drop either Cycling50 at AOL.com or me a line so we know how many are coming. Smile

Might be a good way to get the family interested in cycling.

I'll be there unless MarkT or Maniac is going.

Is this free food/BBQ?? I hope not, it attracts too much riff-raff.

WG, Originally I was planning on about a 50-60 mile ride but since I didn't hear back from anyone and there didn't seem to be any interest, I was asked to do something at church Sunday so I'm committed Sunday morning.

I have sent another message out about a possible ride and provided a link back to this thread. I also told anyone interested in the ride to post here.

My plan right now are to ride from the house, right after Church, up to Rockmart. Last weekend while doing the GRITS century I realized how I can ride from one of my local loops and connect into the GRITS route and enjoy the sweeeet down hill of Everett Mt without a monumental climb! Very Happy

I hope to be on the road between 12:30 - 12:45. Maybe if a group does ride in the morning we can hook up some where?

First of all, I would like to thank Chris P. and Bill S. for trying to get together one of their great rides. Unfortunately, I will be part of the cooking crew so I will not be able to ride. I will be bringing a lot of the food with me and can't leave it in coolers that length of time. I'm not sure if you'll get much of a response. Many of the attendees would like to ride, but are bringing spouses and children to entertain which will limit their miles. This is a real family event. So far we have over 50 adults and 17 children signed up!
If there is no response to the morning ride, Chris P. might just plan to do his regular morning ride and hook up with Bill S. I'm pretty sure there will be some people interested in a 25-30 mile ride at 2 pm--just long enough to get back to eat around 4 pm. I'll try to feel out some people at our Sat. ride and see what they are plannning.

I'm interested in a morning ride. My wife made other plans for the evening that prevents us from attending the picnic. Good luck with it all!
