Please don't turn this into a complaint thread.

I'd simply like to ask those of you who might use high powered strobe lights on the Silver Comet Trail to please stop.

I'm also not talking about a little diode on the front of your GPS or some other very low powered light but high powered LED lights on strobe setting.

They are simply not needed. Beyond that, they also interrupt the vision of cyclists coming toward you, even in the day.

As a courtesy to other cyclists please turn your high powered strobes when you get to the trail. Thanks.

Quit crying. I find it hard to see cyclist in the shade when I ride in from full sunlight. I appreciate the lights so I can see them.

Tim is right.

The market has been flooded with cheap everything. For $5, you can get something with the brightness of a car headlight, and for $8.99, you can get something with the brightness of Tsar Bomba. The strobes are pointless on the trail and blind everyone. They aren't great for people with epilepsy having a bad day either. Rear flashers in the evening are OK as they save power by flashing. If they are nuclear blast bright, it's the same problem. My rear flashers are $1 chinesium, and they are just bright enough to be noticed.

If I am going to run a light on the bike on the trail, it is going to be my Magicshine most of the time as I run it in nighttime conditions when I need to see what is in front of me. I try to keep that light pointed downward, but if you are blinded because you don't have a light and I do and it's pitch black out there, too bad for you.

That's my take on it.

Oh, BS, if a strobe bothers you that much on the trail maybe go out and hit the roads instead or find something actually worth crying about. Stop yer damn whining! GOOB is definitely THE MAN!

All that above could be the beer talking.....but, nevertheless, Goob is the man.

I am almost too young to remember this, but I found the commercial, and here you go, Robert.
