I climb up to the old Willow Springs Bridge from time to time and ran into Mr. Gober last Saturday while taking photos.

Mr. Gober lives in the large house next to the bridge, on the left as one climbs. He is a really nice guy, stopped to ask if I was OK and enthusiastic about supporting the cycling community. He owns 100 acres including the lake along the trail just east of the bridge.

He said to spread the word...

His neighbor in the red house, second on the left after the bridge as one climbs, is in the planning phases of a new winery. There will be about 5 acres planted, an event hall and Mr. Gober said that he and his neighbor had discussed adding some cycling specific features. It was raining so details were sparse but camping for cyclists along the trail was mentioned.

Any support for area cyclists is welcome IMO. I'm going to email Mr. Gober with a note of encouragement and will communicate more details as I find out.

Anyway, so here are a few photos.

I miss riding over that rattly old Willow Springs bridge and then hitting that short steep uphill shortly after it as we headed back toward the trail. That little section always maxxed out the heart rate. The new bridge took the personality out of that section.

Seems like a few MTB trails would add a dimension to the winery that most wineries lack.
