I tried posting this once before, but it never made it to the Big Board. Perhaps it's a simple case of ESO (-Equipment Superior to Operator). let me try again:
I recently purchased a GoPro 7 with image stabilization. I was told that this would be the best camera for our sport. My question though has little to do with photography. It's the simple dilemma of where to mount the thing. Should I confiscate valuable handlebar space, or use one of those nerdy helmet mounts (-The kind that you see with the camera on the very peak of a helmet). I've also watched a Youtube video where a guy mounted a camera to his chain stay. The pictures were (-sort of) dramatic, but the thought of a camera in that location creeps me out.
Any thoughts here?

I use a handlebar mount made by Minoura and a K-edge mount on my saddle seat rails for the 2 Drift action cams I have. Both mounts are rock solid. Of course, I have to use alternate means of carrying tools and tube spares when I mount the seat rail camera so I have a Revelate Jerry Can on the top tube. I used to mount one on the top of my helmet, but it required image stabilization post processing to make it watchable for video "in motion". It's fine for walking around. The Drifts have a good form factor for mounting on the helmet (torpedo shaped), but no image stabilization. The handlebar and seat rail mounts produce very stable video on even rougher pavement.
I plan to try one of the chest mounts someday.
Post up some videos. I love to watch!

Anyone,
If you want to up your video game try Davinci Resolve from BlackMagic Design.
It's FREE and the acknowledged very BEST color grading app and one of very best NLE in the cinema industry.
The free version has just every feature the avg-Joe will ever need.

Chris,
I'm a relative newbie to filming, and was drawn into the hobby as a side-note to drone photography editing. From the programs that I've tried, Resolve 15 seems to be the best, but there's SO much to learn. I've ordered their manual, and plan on wading through the technology one chapter at a time.
The problem with drone photography though, is that it can become boring, with too much of the same thing. To break things up, I started mixing still shots, and now, action from my GoPro. The learning curve is steep, with much to learn to become proficient .
Here's a video that I did (-One of my first) highlighting Snellville GA. The next one will be Grayson. -Perhaps I'll mix in some cycling shots! I brought the drone to the Silver Comet, but it was too closed in around mm 0. My plan is to ride to the trestle and try some shots there.

Looks great Neal.
Better than most drone footage I've seen.
Resolve is good for mixing content. I often use dynamic zoom on the stills to give a feeling of motion or draw attention to some portion of the image.
Cycling video, in general, is much like drone footage, it can get boring quickly and very little interest outside of a small circle of friends or enthusiasts. Handheld can be more interesting, but some safety risks there.
