Velocity Atlanta is unique to Atlanta; there are no others. It's for Grady Hospital. Their goal is to be the "Peachtree Road Race" of cycling events with thousands of participants. I did it last year. While there were some first-year-growing-pains overall it was a good ride. They hire a large, well known cycling promotions company to handle the organizing and day-of logistics of the ride, which may give it more of a "polished" feel than some local charity rides.

Interesting! If it has Trish's approval it might be worth trying.

I saw one Velocity in NY and assumed it was a chain of rides. My bad.

I am hesitant to pay that much for a 2nd year ride without a long track record but if enough of you guys have good things to say about it, I may give it a try one year.

How is riding in downtown Atlanta at the end of the ride toward the Benz? I hear people complain about the traffic on Old Dalton Rd at UTC and Tommy Lee Cook on MACC. Do they close off a lane?

The forecast does not look good for the ride tomorrow - so no point in spending $125.
