It's good to see that all three counties are now working actively on the Silver Comet Trail.
Polk County has recently done a lot of trimming on their section of the trail.
I'll be working with Polk County over the next week to remove the shale rock rubble that is cascading onto the trail. This hazard was the cause of Jeff Mill's serious shoulder injury. Sad that it took so long to get this work started.

Admittedly, my section of the trail was often the most debris strewn section of the trail (and the most frequently cleaned). My lot is just east of Mc Dowell next to Jim's place (with the long wooden ramp). Over the last several weeks we've removed the dead and un-healthy, damaged trees from this section. Damaging vines have been cut from the remaining trees. It looks really nice now. It's been commented that it looked like a park, which was good to hear. The lot is rich in Oak and Cherry trees. The Sweetgums and other weed trees are now gone.
