Thursday Night Paulding Summer Gravel Series - Week 4 - Thursday 6/21 @ 6PM

What: 29 miles of mixed pavement/gravel in North Paulding County
When: Thursday evening, June 21 at 6:00 PM
Where: Sammy McLure Middle School in the North Paulding High School complex, Dallas.

The Thursday Night Paulding Summer Gravel Series will be run weekly though June and July.

Week 4 features the standard route including six gravel sectors and seven paved sectors for a total of 29 miles and 2100 ft climbing. Over 40% of the route is gravel and the remainder is typical smooth Paulding County pavement. A store stop will be available at mile 19 if needed.

This is a structured "no drop" ride open to riders of all abilities. No one will get dropped or left behind. Faster riders are welcome to form a group off the front.

Sunset will begin at 8:54 PM and it will be completely dark at 9:32 PM giving us more than enough time to ride. The 5 day forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and a high of 92° on Thursday afternoon. Severe weather cancels the ride so check the forecast and this thread before heading out.

Sammy McLure Middle School is in the North Paulding High School complex on Grogan Rd off Harmony Grove Church Rd near Hwy 61/Dabbs Bridge Rd in Dallas. Take Harmony Grove Church Rd east from Hwy 61 or west from Dabbs Bridge Rd. Turn onto Grogan Rd at the light and make the first left into the school parking lot.

Text or call 678.462.6698 if you have any questions or need directions to the start.

The weatherman says there will be scattered thunderstorms and temps in the high 70's at ride time.

As of 8:30 AM there is nothing stopping this ride from taking place. My plan is still to be there at 6:00.

Rain just dumped on the route and more on the way coming in from the west.

I'm all for a mudfest but just not tonight and so I'll spend some quality time in the garage with a Campy Record Pista crankset instead.

I hope you all have fun and are safe whatever you decide to do tonight.
