Flying tree branches, debris.
Limbs across the trail, tree limbs.
The storm moved in quickly.
I skirted the edge of the rain from mile 17, back to Florence.

Post subject: RE: Don
I actually hit some crosswinds that were strong enough to warrant dropping into the drops and made it back to the car with a few minutes before the rain hit hard. There was debris all over the place, and I didn't want to be riding in even more of that.
Joe and Steve both offered to drive me back to my starting point. With my....uh, amazing powers of, uh, prediction....uh, I declined.
Saw a cute tri-chick on the way back. Was going to explain that lightning always hits the aerobars first but knew that I had only minutes to spare and no time for conversation.

Yes that one came in quickly - D and I took the main road back to Rosemont and we hit some massive head winds that must have at times been 30 mph + it was a grind all the way back - nice ride tonight with some nice efforts thanks to D sprinting out the pace at times.
